Frigipan manufactures high-performance insulated panels in Pretoria, South Africa, with two proven jointing systems: double tongue-and-groove and hardboard barrier strip. Both systems are designed to provide a secure, close-fitting connection that helps maximise thermal insulation, panel stability and energy efficiency in cold rooms, freezer rooms and other insulated structures.
Double tongue-and-groove joints.
The double tongue-and-groove joint system provides a precise, interlocking connection between panels. The profile is designed to create a tight joint, helping minimise thermal bridging and air leakage while providing excellent panel alignment. Combined with fire-retardant EPS insulation, the interlocking profile provides a strong and consistent panel connection. The locking design also simplifies installation, helping reduce installation time and maintain consistent results across larger projects.
Hardboard barrier strip joints.
The hardboard barrier strip joint system, also known as a hardboard joint, is a traditional and cost-effective panel connection method. It uses an internal hardboard strip fitted into pre-cut recesses along the edges of adjoining panels. This jointing method provides a secure panel connection and is suitable for a wide range of cold room, freezer room and insulated building applications.
